Police Complain Of Tribal Based Promotions By IG Boinnet



There has been tension at vigilance house after promotion of senior police officers. The inspector general is accused of promoting tribalism in preparation for 2022 general elections.

Sources say that the IG has been promoting Kalenjins Kikuyus and Somalis in order to have a polarized police force in the next five years.

The National police service commission chairman and PS Karanja Kibicho are said to have been compromised by having their close relatives promoted.

Sources claim that 8 out of 11 officers promoted were Kalenjin. Among those promoted include Henry Barmao who is now the director of communication, Peter Birgen as the director of inspection, Julius Bermau was promoted as the commandant at the Tourist police. The others appointed belonged to the GEMA community.
