A woman was on Wednesday arrested for scamming youths into applying for jobs with Governor Mike Sonko’s ‘Sonko Rescue Team.’
The unidentified woman is said to have sent a Whatsapp message to hundreds of people.
The message read: ”If you know any youth in Nbi who is interested in working with Team Sonko as a cleaner kindly inform he/she to register at the County Ward offices immediately. Salary is 15,000 per month and only ID card needed.”
Sonko, through his social media pages denied any association with the woman labeling her as ‘an imposter.’
The woman was caught on tape pleading her case at the police station where she said that an unidentified man had asked her to send the message on Whatsapp.
She promised to help the officers find the man behind the scam.
