Residents of West Pokot county are crying foul over the absenteeism of their deputy governor Dr. Nicholas Atudonyang who has been in the USA immediately after he was sworn in.
The Deputy governor who also doubles up as the Health CEC works as a neurosurgeon in Texas (USA). Members of the Independent Pokot Leaders Forum (IPLF) have pressured the governor John Lonyangapuo to fire the deputy governor
“He must relinquish the position if he can’t stay in Kenya and work for the Pokot. We have many challenges due to poor leadership .We have seen many referrals to Eldoret and shortage of drugs,” IPLF chairman Ezekiel Pyegoh said
The group also accused the governor of not considering the minority communities in the areas 8 months after he made the promises. They said that the 30 percent appointment for the minority was a legal requirement
Dr. Nicholas Atudonyang had been accused of choking and threatening a woman in in Kitale over land issues and that might have been the reason he fled from the country to avoid being embarrassed by the allegations.
