They say love is sweet and when money is involved love is even sweeter. How would you imagine having a grand wedding for several days with different themes and set ups?
The wedding of the Kisumu sugar barons’ children was one of a kind. It was held at Simba Club, Kisumu, where security had been heightened through the day and night.
The wedding invitation cards only cost KSh35, 000 each. Each day had its own special invitation card which came as part of the invitation package.
The wedding reception also had different themes in all the seven days and different set ups. It was a lavish set up fit for a King and a Queen.
The Couple, Amrita Hayer and Simranjeet Patel are said to have started their celebration on days before but the key events were in the last seven days.
Amrita Hayer is from the Hayer Bishan Singh family, owners of Hayer Bishan Singh and Sons while Simranjeet Patel is grandson of Chanan Singh and son to Raju Patel, owner of Kibos Sugar.
The wedding was attended by powerful people such as Deputy President, William Ruto who had sneaked in to Kisumu County to attend the wedding.
Other people who were invited included former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
