Leader of Majority in parliament Aden Duale has said that Jubilee will only engage with NASA leader Raila Odinga on how to unify the country. He insisted that they will not talk about electoral justice or restructuring the countries governance.
“We are not going to talk about electoral justice because as Jubilee we do not want to return the country to an election mood through referendum,” Duale said
Aden Duale said that he has received no instructions on the way forward after the famous unity pact handshake.
NASA co principals have however said that it is not possible to hold talks on unity if the issues that initially caused the disunity are not addressed. According to them electoral fraud is the main thorn in the flesh that breeds ethnic seclusion.
Duale however said that what should be discussed is how to bring about ethnic inclusion and harmony.
He said that president Uhuru and the Jubilee party would not want to discuss issues that will deter them from implementing the four main agendas that they vowed to accomplish within this term.
There has been a lot of speculation as to what the handshake between the two leaders really meant for the ruling party and the opposition. leaders from both sides of the political divide have been speculating the extent of the agreement with the main leaders keeping silent on the way forward after the ‘handshake’.
