Former Sports Cabinet Secretary, Hassan Wario took offense when a member of the Defense and Foreign Relations committee tagged him a ‘shisha addict.’
Wario, who’s stint at the Sports ministry was marred by misappropriation of funds specially the Sh88 million meant for the 2016 Rio Olympics was angered by the term used to describe him.
Moses Kirima, MP Imenti Central asked the former CS to state his position on the shisha ban, now that he (Wario) is a ‘known addict.’
Committee chair, Katoo Ole Metito then ruled the Imenti Central legislator ‘out of order’ for using ‘unparliamentary language.’
Asked to rephrase the question, the legislator omitted the word ‘addict’ replacing it with one who ‘takes shisha and enjoys it.’

Kirima had the members reeling with laughter.
An agitated Wario answered: “What I do in my private life is none of anyone’s business.”
He was nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenya’s ambassador to Austria as were other CSs who performed dismally in the previous cabinet.
Then Health CS, Cleopa Mailu banned the importation, manufacturing, sale, use, advertisement, promotion and distribution of shisha in Kenya on December 27, 2017.
