Embu Governor, Martin Wambora on Tuesday lost the first round of an ongoing petition case challenging his win.

The petition was filed by the areas former Senator, Lenny Kivuti who believes that he won the governor seat by at least 453 votes.

The Embu High Court ordered that all election materials used during the August Poll be provided by the IEBC.

Justice Florence Muchemi while delivering the ruling asked that the KIEMS kits used on August 8 be well preserved.

“The orders should remain in force pending the hearing and determination of this case, which will be heard on September 20,” Justice Muchemi said.

Mr Kivuti said that he did not agree with the results for Manyatta, Mbeere South and Runyenjes constituencies.

Wambora beat the former legislator by 932 votes.

The governor was sworn in for his second term in office on 18 August, 2017.
