The High Court on Tuesday dismissed NASA leader, Raila Odinga’s application to have Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru’s lifestyle audited.
Judge Joseph Sergon threw out Odinga’s suit as he was ‘satisfied that Ms Waiguru responded to the interrogatories in accordance with the law’ even though she declined to answer some of the questions.
He noted that she did however, give reasons as to why she could not answer some of the questions put across by the opposition leader’s lawyers.
Odinga wanted her to make known her salary, allowances, material worth and list of properties so that he (Raila) could be in a ‘position to prepare for trial.’

The former Prime Minister’s utterances had according to Ms Waiguru portrayed her as a ‘common thief, an embezzler of public funds, corrupt in the extreme, a flagrant law breaker and unfit to hold public office.’
Then, Devolution CS threatened to sue the opposition who welcomed the move as it was a ‘great opportunity to explain to Kenyans how and why she is receiving preferential treatment from the President in matters of corruption unlike other cabinet secretaries.’
Also sued for defamation are former Senators, Boni Khalwale and Johnston Muthama who the Kirinyaga Governor claimed linked her to the Sh791 million fraud at the National Youth Service (NYS).
