Former Devolution CS, Anne Waiguru is leading in the race for Kirinyaga county governor seat, TIFA poll reveals.
According to a new TIFA poll, Ms Waiguru will garner 55 per cent of the votes against Martha Karua’s 35 per cent.
The poll further reveals that the Uhuru Kenyatta party enjoys 95 per cent support while Ms Karua’s Narc-Kenya has a mere two percent.
The incumbent, Joseph Ndathi, who is defending his seat as an independent, has a three per cent support, according to the survey.
Seven per cent of Kirinyaga voters are undecided but it is unlikely that their number will change the current ratings.
The former CS was responsible for the transformation of Kibera slums but what excites the people of Kirinyaga even more is the fact that she is not afraid to get her hands dirty.
She has in the past rolled up her sleeves and joined the NYS cohorts in cleaning the filthy slum trenches which according to the Kirinyaga residents shows that she has what it takes to bolster development in the agricultural area.
