The Catholic University of Eastern Africa will close its Kisumu and Nairobi City campuses with effect from January next year.
In a statement to CUEA Family and stakeholders,the Institution said it has been working on implementing a turnaround strategy that is meant to enable the University consolidate and better its resources.
“In this regard, following consultations with University Board of Trustees Council and Stakeholders, the University Senate has reached a decision that will see the closure of our Kisumu and Nairobi campuses.”

The Statement issued by the Varsity’s Vice Chancellor Prof. Justus MBAE and which Kahawa Tungu saw was quick to add that the decision has been arrived at after careful consideration of its effect on students, staff and all those concerned.
“Following this development, necessary measures are being undertaken for a smooth transition following the closure of the campuses. The Commission for University Education has been promptly and duly informed.”
The students and stakeholders have been assured that the modalities put in place will enable students to complete their studies without compromising quality.
