Young Kenyan athlete, Sheila Chepng’etich has died while undergoing treatment in Kericho County Referral Hospital where she had been taken ill. The under 20 bronze medalist passed away on Sunday evening.
Sheila’s coach, Japheth Kimei confirmed that the athlete had been sick and had been undergoing treatment.

The athlete had won silver in 3000m and bronze 1500m for Kenya in 2013 and had been serving a 4 year suspension since 2014 for being tested positive for illegal substance abuse.
