Enoch Onsanze, uncle to the three children of Kapsoya ward MCA aspirant, James Ratemo, was arrested and charged with abduction.
Enoch was on Tuesday arraigned in court but the case has been delayed on the request of State Counsel Zachary Omwenga who urged an Eldoret court to give them more time to amend the charges.
He said prosecutors are collaborating with other State agencies because of the magnitude of the case.
He said his application was informed by preliminary findings, which indicate that the children were murdered.
It is alleged that Ratemo’s sale of ancestral land to finance his political ambitions was the source of motive for the killing. The boys’ mother said Onsanze sent her a threatening message for marrying into a different tribe, demanding the family’s wealth back.
He was reportedly last seen with the children at Eldoret town on May 13, where he reportedly bought for them chips on their way from Eldovil SDA church.
The killings have been condemned by local leaders who have asked the police to hasten the investigations.
Magistrate Charles Obulutsa granted the request and directed the suspect to appear in court on June 6.
