Senior Kikuyu leaders have sent their protests to State House over the plans which were being laid by the office of the President to have President Uhuru Kenyatta visit Nyanza and launch various development projects while he has not done the same in his own backyard.
Seen more as fear of Raila’s growing influence in the second term of President Uhuru’s government and determination to see Kikuyus respect agreement between Deputy President Ruto and President Uhuru, the leaders have indicated that they will not appreciate being looked down upon.

Already, President Uhuru has called on Raila to tell the media to stop speculating on the impending cabinet changes as the President has realised that it’s causing unease.
The talks of a cabinet reshuffle recently forced Sports CS Rashid Echesa to warn Raila to stop talking about him while discussing changes he should make. The president has reportedly reached out to his camp and asked them not to attack Raila as he tried to “calm him.”
While President Uhuru and NASA leader Raila Odinga discussed changes in the cabinet to accommodate the opposition leaders backyard, Deputy President Ruto’s wing has completely blocked efforts to sack anyone aligned to the DP from the cabinet. The Deputy President has insisted that Raila should not get into the government through the back door.
