President Uhuru Kenyatta is a party boy who spends most of his time drinking than doing his job, human rights activist Boniface Mwangi has said.

The outspoken Pawa 254 founder further accuses the President and the entire Kenyatta family of stealing from Kenyans, most specially his mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

The former Starehe MP aspirant says that the first family has in the past grabbed land with his late father and Kenya’s founding father Jomo Kenyatta having stolen approximately 50,000 acres of land.

One of the pieces of land believed to have irregularly been acquired by the Kenyatta family is the 30,000 acre Sukari Ranch that extends “from Nairobi City boundaries in the general direction of Ruiru, Kahawa and Gatundu.”

The land was until 1974 owned by the French Scophin Company and was earmarked for the future expansion of Nairobi.

It was later discovered that the first family owned the land, how nobody knows.

Jomo Kenyatta three months later sought to sell the land which was going to be paid for with funds meant for the settlement of landless Africans. The land valuer then, Mr Dermott Kydd declined to value the land before viewing it and determining the feasibility of effecting settlement on the barren land and poor soil of the ranch.

Director of Lands Mr O’Loughlin and Mr Kydd were then summoned to State House on December 18, 1974, at 1 pm where the late President hurled insults at them and ordered that the 20,000 acres of the barren land be valued at a higher price.

Similarly, in January 1977 Ari Grammaticas who owned Governor’s camp and 500 acres of tea plantation in Thika had his farm forcefully taken over by Mama Ngina.

The former first lady apparently paid Sh200,000 for the land valued at Sh1 million.

Grammaticas moved back to Switzerland after the take over and sued Mama Ngina through a firm owned by Dingle Foot.

Mama Ngina backed down and offered the land owner more money.

Others mentioned in the forceful and illegal acquisition of land were Kenyatta’s brother James Muigai, his son Peter Kenyatta, grandson Michael Njoroge, his Nephews who include Dr Njoroge Mungai, Beth mugo and others.

Boniface also accused the president who is in his second and final term in office of taking on one too many loans, a move that has seen every Kenyan owe the government at least Sh100,000.

“Between the time Kenya attained independence in 1963 and Uhuru became President in 2013, the country had borrowed a total of KSh1.749 trillion. In the past 5 years of Uhuru’s administration, he has borrowed a massive KSh2.252 trillion and he’s still taking on more loans,” he said.

The activist also mentions that the head of state shields his friends who have been adversely mentioned in graft scandals.

“If you look at all corruption scandals over the past five years, you notice that in any theft that involved people from Uhuru’s side of the coalition, the thieves walked scot free – NYS 1, Afya House Scandal,” he continued.

He also says that as Deputy President William Ruto’s allies are dragged to court on corruption charges, he doubts that those associated with Uhuru will go through the same.

“If Uhuru isn’t a thief, why does he appoint thieves as cabinet secretaries and ambassadors? He doesn’t even respect the young people and he recycles old men to parastatals and ambassadorships. There is no difference between Uhuru and the thieves he associates himself with and appoints to office,” he complains.
