Two Kenya Airways (KQ) flight attendants have been detained in India on suspicion of having concealed gold.
The two are said to have been apprehended by airport authorities in Mumbai, who are said to have informed their Kenyan counterparts about the matter.
The suspects were detained when their various aircraft touched down at Mumbai airport.
The duo is said to have boarded separate planes from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday and Friday.

“The Indian customs officials arrested the flight crews and they reach out to the Kenyan customs officials. They are working closely to establish the origin of the gold consignment and why it was not declared at the point of exit,” a security official told NTV.
“The KQ management is seized of the matter.”
The Nairobi authorities are looking into who might have helped assist the criminal act and how the seized gold managed to go through JKIA unnoticed.
Carrying concealed gold is illegal in India.
