Tanzania’s Flaviana Matata Named Most Inspirational Woman In New York

Tanzania’s Miss Universe 2007, Flaviana Matata was awarded as the Most Inspirational Woman at the Global Awards Gala held in New York.

She started her own organization known as Flaviana Matata Foundation which empowers young women through education, training and micro- finance projects and has helped over 3000 girls.

She was the first Tanzanian to represent the country at the Miss Universe with short natural hair. She won 6th place overall.

She has a passion for philanthropy and has used her position to help under privileged kids in Tanzania. She still finds ways to improve the quality of education in Tanzania.

Flaviana is an entrepreneur, a model and a humanitarian.

“I dedicate this award to every woman and man who has been part of my journey. I would never have gotten this far if it wasn’t for the people who continue to believe in me. I still have a long way to go but God is great and I don’t take anything for granted,” she shared on twitter.
