Tanzanians are mourning the death of top music producer, Pancho Latino, popularly known as Mafia, who drowned while swimming in the Indian Ocean.
The incident happened on Tuesday where witnesses say that Pancho was seen swimming but could not be spotted after 10 minutes. Fishermen are said to have went out to the ocean and found his remains.
Pancho and his friends were swimming in the Indian Ocean at Mbudya Island in Dar Es Salaam.
His body was transferred to Lugalo Military Hospital mortuary.
Pancho Latino has worked with various Tanzanian artists including AY, Mwana FA, Vanessa Mdee, and Dully Sykes.
He is credited for some of Tanzanian artists’ top hits such as, AY’s “Nangoja Ageuke”, Vanessa Mdee’s “Closer” and Mwana FA featuring AY’s “Usije Mjini”.
