
A Tanzanian politician has been charged with using abusive language.
The Chadema party member, Tundu Lissu allegedly referred to President John Magufuli as a dictator.
Tundu has been in police custody since Thursday and was only arraigned in court on Monday where the magistrate denied him bail, sending him back to jail.
Lissu has been on the government’s case for constantly attacking the opposition and the media. In his media address, the opposition party member asked donors to freeze their donations to the country.

Magufuli has been said to be intolerant hence banning opposition rallies up until the next general elections in 2020.
