A tanker transporting sulphuric acid has exploded at Kaburengo Junction along the Eldoret-Malaba Road.
At the scene are St John ambulance responders as well as firefighters.
The driver and his turnboy are however feared dead.

On Sunday two lorries burst into flames after colliding along the busy Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
No casualties were reported as the drivers of the two trucks were quickly pulled out by members of the public.
“We wish to caution motorists using the Nairobi-Mombasa highway that there is an accident involving two trucks between Machinery and Kambu area,” police said in a tweet.
