The Kitondo Boys’ student had with him images on a WhatsApp account.
Confirming the incident, Mbooni East OCPD Peter Njeru said the images were forwarded to the KNEC headquarters for further scrutiny.
The boy was taken to Mbumbuni police station where he is being held.
“We have confiscated the phone [and sent the content] to the KNEC CEO in Nairobi for further investigations. The student will remain in our custody until we [receive reports from KNEC],” said Mr Njeru.
The police will be making more arrests as the boy named other people. The students communicated via a WhatsApp group known as ‘Team 2017.’
”We will carry out further investigations and bring to book all those spreading the content. They will all be charged.”
