St Augustine Preparatory Headmistress, Ms Sarah Kessi and five others will face murder charges, the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has recommended.
Ms Kessi is being held responsible for the death of one of her pupils, Jeremy Masila. Jeremy went through a hole in the bus while trying to pick up his bag. The boy was crushed and died on the spot.
The Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Alexander Muteti said they had received the investigation file from the police.
The police report indicated that the hole was concealed with a cardboard, a clear indication that the school was aware of the risks but neglected to repair the hole.
Jeremy’s mother wants action taken against the school citing negligence. Her class two daughter witnessed her brother’s death.
The bus driver and the his assistant fled from the scene of crime and are yet to be found.
