Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) secretary general, Wilson Sossion will be taking oath of office as a nominated Mp by the ODM party.
Speaking to the Nation, Sossion said he would after all become part of the 12th parliament despite earlier reports of his turning down the offer.
“I am already at the chambers, ready to be sworn in,” he told the Nation on phone.
He on Monday asked his party to nominate someone else in his place as he still was fighting for the teachers’ rights.

The Secretary General is however said not to have formally written to the IEBC giving up his seat.
COTU Secretary-General Francis Atwoli asked elected and nominated trade unionists not to turn down their places in Parliament.
“We ask the two unions not to fall prey to some external forces, interests and pressures to either relieve these elected union officials of their positions or be coerced into calling for their resignation, because as workers we are no doubt set to benefit greatly,” Atwoli said.
