How Sony Sugar’s Enock Agwanda Celebrated A Brace With A Kiss

No player better grasps the cliché behind every successful man there’s a woman than Sony Sugar striker Enock Agwanda.

Just when he had given up on his football dreams following troubled seasons with Bandari and Ushuru, which were derailed by injuries, his loving wife was there to urge him on.

And on Saturday at Jericho’s Camp Toyoyo when he grabbed his first brace of the season in a Kenyan Premier League tie against Kariobangi Sharks, the burly striker nicknamed “Jowi” ran to where she was seated across the perimeter fence to plant a kiss on her lips.

It was the beginning of beautiful things to come for the couple and on Tuesday, Agwanda was crowned the best player in the league for the month of July, earning himself Ksh. 100k prize money and 49’ LG TV.

“I have to thank my wife and my parents for making me return to Sony Sugar,” the former Ushuru man said after accepting the award at the Awendo Greeen.

Agwanda rejoined Sony from Ushuru mid this season in a move that has seen him rediscover his former lethal self.

The ex-Sofapaka forward has so far scored seven goals against his personal target of five, helping the millers move clear off the chop zone.
