Sony yesterday unveiled a new gaming console, Sony PS3, at its pre-Tokyo Game Show briefing. Revealing a new body design, the PS3 is going to be 20% smaller and 25 percent lighter than the current PS3.
The new PS3 console will be available in 250GB and 500GB models unlike the current one which is available in 160GB and 320GB. It will also be available in black (to be available from October 4) and white (to be available on November 22) colours.
Sony announced the 250GB model of the new PS3 will cost 370 USD. Sony has not revealed the pricing for the 500GB version. Sony also revealed that an Everybody’s Golf 6 PS3 pack will launch on November 22 with a white PS3 250GB model for $330.
Sony revealed that the 250GB PS3 will be available on September 25 in North America for US$269.99 as part of a limited edition bundle featuring Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year edition, and a voucher for more than US$30 worth of bonus digital content for the title Dust 514.
The new 500GB PS3 will be available in a limited edition Assassin’s Creed III bundle on October 30 in North America. Sony did not reveal pricing for this model.
