Governor Sonko Halts Construction Of Avic Towers, 15 People Arrested

Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has stopped the ongoing construction of the Avic Towers along Waiyaki way in Westlands.

The building of the tower has been in contention since 2015 when the adjacent building, Villa Rosa Kempinski owners went to court to stop the construction as it was not providing a conducive environment for their business.

15 people were arrested today at the site stopping the construction under the claim that it is being constructed on public property.

The 15 will be arraigned in Court on Thursday afternoon.

AVIC towers was set to be a 47 storey building with a five star international luxury hotel and high end business apartments.
