Governor Mike Sonko of Nairobi County has pledged Ksh20 million to the Harambee Stars should they proceed to the quarter finals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The national men’s football team is heading back to the biennial continental showpiece after 15 years in the cold.
Stars have graced the football extravaganza five times in the past but have never gone past the mini league phase.

“If Harambee Stars make us proud by qualifying at least for the quarterfinals in the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, I will sell one of my beach plots or take a loan and reward them with Ksh20 million,” Goal quoted Sonko.
