Social Media Accounts of NASA Bloggers Hacked, Content Deleted

Social media accounts of opposition coalition – NASA – bloggers have been hacked and most of the content deleted, actions which is now being suspected to be implemented by Jubilee.

According to the bloggers, the Facebook, Twitter and Gmail accounts of Dikembe Disembe, Phil Wesonga, Abdullahi Musa and Lee Makwiny have all been taken over in the recent times with the hackers mostly striking at night to edit or delete content posted on the pages.

Just this morning, Abdullahi Musa has found out that he lost control of his social media accounts after waking up and finding that he can’t login in all of them and the backup or recovery mechanisms changed.

Some of the bloggers deployed various layers of security like 2-factor verification to ward off the hackers but the fact that they always struggle to use free Wi-Fi everywhere means that it was so easy to target them at their famous eating spots and hack all of their accounts.

The bloggers have been strong critics of the government and the Jubilee coalition as they counter the negative campaigns against NASA and Raila Odinga online. They have been the most consistent supporters of Raila I have known.

The attacks on their social media accounts mean that they will have to deploy extra security measures to avoid such and even be safe physically.
