
Family and friends of slain Meru university student leader Evans Njoroge took place at his parents farm in Longonot. He was the only son to his parents.
Evans Njoroge was slain for protesting the decision by the university to hike the fees.

Evans Njoroge was shot at a sweet potato farm by police after protests broke out in the university. Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi had blamed the former V.C Magambo of being behind the shooting
The police are yet to arrest the person behind the shooting identified as a policeman.
Amnesty International have also called for the arrest of the officer. This was supported by lawyer Nelson Havi. Inspector general Joseph Boinet said he does not the said police officer
