The Energy Regulation Commission (ERC) has shut down six petrol stations after it was discovered that they were selling adulterated fuel.
This came after the commission inspected 753 petroleum stations between July ans September.
The ERC issued a statement on Friday saying that they managed to conduct 4,459 tests at the various petrol stations.
“From the tests, 97.5 per cent were found to be compliant but 19 sites turned to be non-compliant,” the statement said.

The ERC also re-opened 13 other sites after they upgraded their products and payed their penalties.
The commission has maintained that they will continue to take action against any petrol station found selling adulterated oil.
