It is a practice that has been rampant in most institutions of higher learning, that has been blamed for half-baked graduates.
However, most of these student-lecturer relationships end immediately the students finish their studies. This is different from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), Kahawa Tungu has learnt.
According to sources within the University, the practice is rampant in the Social Science Department as well as in the law faculty.
One of the cases involves Maureen (undergraduate and masters student in political science who never completed her masters). She is alleged to be among the beneficiaries of sex for grades/job through Mr Mike Sitawa. She was hired by Mr Samuel Wakanyua to be an instructor for the Diploma in International Relations which began in August 2018.
Another alleged beneficiary of the scheme is Adhi, an undergraduate in political science, who also benefited through Mr Sitawa.

It is also alleged that another victim, only identified as Getrude, was asked for sex by Mumo Nzau but declined. She was then asked for Ksh20,000 for better grades but also declined. This desk learns that she has since disappeared from the campus without graduating.
Assumpta, a political science student, was seen entering and leaving Mumo Nzau’s home on a Saturday. Her academic credentials are identical to Maureen’s. She was hired by Mr Wakanyua to be an instructor for the Diploma in International Relations which began in August 2018.
Another victim, Joyce, visited Mumo Nzau’s home on a Saturday. She never completed her studies and disappeared from the campus.
