Nyeri senator Ephraim Maina brought comical relief in the Senate when he suggested that the lavatories at the senate should have a place to hang their coats.
The Nyeri senator had removed his coat while going to the gents when leader of minority, Moses Wetangula noticed that he had no coat and alerted the speaker.
The acting speaker Margaret Kamar asked senator Ephraim Maina to apologize after reading to him the standing orders.

“Senator for Nyeri ,you owe this House an apology for dressing improperly,” the speaker told Eng. Maina.
In his defense the senator said that there needs to be coat hangers in the lavatories as was the norm in most parts of the world.
“You Know Madam Speaker one needs to be comfortable when relieving himself therefore our toilets need to have coat hangers.” Senator Ephraim Maina defended himself.
He was however put under pressure by the the house and was forced to apologize.
