Seems Like Huffington Post is set to Launch in Kenya in a Few Months

Seems like the online news landscape in Kenya might soon change with the entry of AOL behemoth, Huffington Post.

The world renowned news blog Huffington Post seems to be planning to launch in Kenya soon after the recent launch in South Africa. The news site which was co-founded by Arianna Huffington bought it’s .ke domain in September, just two months before its launch in South Africa. The domain was registered by CSC Corporate Domains which registered all Huffington Post linked domains.

Speaking to CNN recently, the company CEO, Jared Grusd, revealed that they will be launching in more markets to expand its footprint and deliver a better experience to readers.

The launch of Huffington Post in Kenya will stir the local competitions. Currently there is no serious well packaged online news offering with the dominant players of mainstream print outlets copying their print news items on to their online platforms despite the each market being unique  in own way.
