The management of Sarit Center has, on Wednesday, rubbished claims that the shopping mall is being targeted by terrorists.
In a statement released to newsrooms, the management called upon the public to disregard the fake security alert doing rounds on social media platforms.
The statement read in part: “We have not received any specific alert from the authorities regarding the heighten security at the Sarit Center and we continue to work closely with them to do our level best to provide our shoppers with a safe and comfortable shopping environment.”
The statement went ahead asking Kenyans to refrain from forwarding and sharing information that is yet to be verified by the relevant authorities, as such only aim to spread fear and cause panic.

According to the alarming message doing rounds on social media platforms, security at the mall has been beefed up around the shopping center in Westlands due to an impending terror attack.
This statement comes barely a month since the Al Shabaab group carried a terror attack at Dusit-D2 hotel, leaving 21 people dead.
The attack led to the United States (US) issuing a release that advised Kenyans to remain vigilant in public spaces such as shopping malls, hotels and places of worship citing them as key target areas to terrorists.
