KANU Secretary General, Nick Salat has taken a swing at National Assembly Majority leader, Aden Duale for apparently attacking Baringo Senator Gideon Moi over the 2022 Presidential bid.
Speaking in Kapchepkor, Baringo North during the burial of politician Yano Singei, Salat sent a stern warning to the Garissa Town MP saying that Jubilee and KANU were not on a collision course.
“In 2022 Jubilee have their own candidate and we have our own in KANU and it is the voters who will decide. Now he (Duale) is mentioning names saying this person is someone’s son… I wonder whom did he want to be the father,” Salat said.
The majority leader is said to have made the scathing remarks in Balambala constituency, during Issa Yarow’s homecoming – Garissa County Executive Member in charge of Agriculture and Livestock.
“William Ruto’s father was a peasant and in the next elections it is not who your father is but what you have done for Kenyans that will count,” said Duale.
Also present during the event was Moi, who on his part asked leaders to stop spreading lies and propaganda against him.
“Have I ever insulted anyone? We are from one family so why is it that you always have to wake up and insult Gideon?” Moi posed.
He also asked Duale to steer clear of Rift Valley politics and support his preferred presidential candidate.
“He has his own party – Jubilee – and we have our own – Kanu. Why is he always bothered with the son of former President Daniel Arap Moi? He should desist.”
