Owner of contentious Ruaraka land Francis Mburu has revealed the names of senators who sought a Sh100 million bribe in order for them to write a favourable report on his behalf.
The businessman has cleared nominated senator Millicent Omanga’s name of any blame and instead says that those responsible are; Kimani Wamatangi (Kiambu), Moses Kajwang (Homa Bay) and Mithika Linturi (Meru).
Earlier reports indicated that Omanga who is also a member of the Public Accounts and Investments Committee as are the other three accused persons, solicited for a bribe at Laico Summit Club.
“…this lady is unknown to me or any of our four directors. No one has ever met her in the past outside the inquiry committee,” a letter addressed to Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka reads in part.
Speaker Lusaka has since demanded for answers from Senator Kajwang who is also the committee chair.
Lusaka has given the Kajwang led committee seven days to substantiate Mburu’s “grave allegations that have the prospect of undermining public confidence in the House.”
