The court has given controversial evangelist, Gilbert Deya a sigh of relief after it allowed his application to have the preacher released on bond.
The court said that the evangelist would be released with a bond of Sh1 million and two sureties of the same amount. This comes as a sigh of relief for the preacher who was having a difficult time adjusting to the conditions at Kamiti maximum prison after his extradition.
The court however added two conditions to the release of Gilbert Deya; ordered to attend all court sessions and to also present himself to the Muthaiga police station on a weekly basis until the case is finalized. The court said that the evangelist would not be allowed to leave the country.

The judge made the preacher’s lawyer responsible for his client ordering him to ensure that Deya attends all court sessions.
The evangelist was extradited to Kenya after he was accused of five counts of child stealing in the United kingdom. He was deported after his appeal to be tried away from his home country was denied even after various appeals.
