NASA leaders on Wednesday renamed Nairobi’s recreational park, Uhuru Park to Raila Odinga Grounds.

Led by Siaya Senator, James Orengo, the opposition leaders expressed the irritation that comes with using the grounds and having to mention the President’s first name.

They (NASA) have been using the grounds as their assembly point during the anti-Chiloba protests.

”Everywhere we go, Uhuru is being mentioned. So, from today as well as during our demonstrations, this park will be known as Raila Odinga Park. And so on Friday, we will meet at the Raila Odinga Park,” Orengo told the crowd.

The opposition will starting Monday, 16 October hold demonstrations on a daily basis.

On Wednesday, protests were held in Kisumu, Nairobi, Siaya.

In Kisumu, 17 people were allegedly shot by the police and are nursing their wounds.
