ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga this morning paid courtesy call to Mama Grace Onyango, the country’s first woman mayor.
The ailing 91-year-old was the first Kenyan woman mayor after being elected in Kisumu in 1965, replacing Mathias Ondiek before being elected the first woman MP for Kisumu Town in 1969.
Raila Odinga was accompanied by Kisumu Deputy Governor. Dr. Ochieng Owili, Luo elders and Senate Minority Leader, Sen. James Orengo.
Also present was Kisumu Sen. Fred Outa, Kisumu Women Representative Rosa Buyu, Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Onyango Oloo, Nyakach MP. Aduma Owuor and a host of MCAs.
Raila is facing growing calls to condemn the recent increase in fuel prices which is already hitting Ksh 130 per litre.
