National Super Alliance (NASA) will make known the venue of Raila Odinga’s swearing in on Sunday, December 10 ahead of the actual ceremony on 12th.
The opposition in a press briefing this afternoon (Friday, December 10) reiterated that Odinga will be sworn in lawfully and wants Attorney General Githu Muigai to state how they, NASA, National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the People’s Assembly have contravened the law.
The AG on Thursday said that an alternative swearing in is a treasonable act punishable by death. He also noted that county assemblies found to have funded the people’s assemblies activities will be ‘surcharged’ adding that the motion is alien to the Kenyan constitution.
The venue has been kept under wraps but according to Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, the inauguration ceremony at Moi Stadium, Kisumu presided over by Justice Richard Otieno Kwach who dismissed the claims.
The opposition has insisted that they will swear in Odinga despite his deputy leader, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka pulling out of the arrangement which his party says will plunge the country into chaos.

The brains behind the ceremony say that the People’s assembly will start carrying out its functions starting Tuesday after which the People’s president will be sworn in to power.
The list of invited guests and what it means is a closely guarded secret and according to an invite doing rounds on the internet, the guests will be vetted.
