Raila Odinga has distanced himself from the calls from ODM leaders who said that he would be the flag bearer for the 2022 .He has said that those were their personal opinions and that he is focused on uniting the nation.
Raila Odinga has appealed to Kenyans to focus on initiatives to build bridges and also avoid being distracted by 2022 politics.
In his statement he said that should he want to communicate his planss for 2022 he will do so in person and not via proxy.

This comes after the senate minority leadre and Siaya senator James Orengo had said that that Raila Odinga will not retire anytime soon. He said that Raila was yet to achieve his goals and therefore would not retire from politics.
Raila said that his supporters should sill be patient as the the journey to Canan was still on course.
