Speaking in Vihiga on Thursday, Ruto said Odinga was scared of losing to President Uhuru Kenyatta by an even bigger margin hence asking his supporters not to participate in the fresh polls.
”Kenyans should be allowed to make their own decisions on the leaders they want. After all, it is God who decides on leaders through elections,” the DP said.
”Nobody should stand in the way of Kenyans choosing leaders of their choice at the ballot.”
He further accused the opposition leader of trying to cause uncertainty in the country and pushing for a coalition government.
Ruto thanked the Vihiga voters for giving Kenyatta 18,000 votes up from 2,000 votes in 2013.
He requested the electorate to throw their weight behind the President as he is a leader looking to unite Kenyans and development oriented.
The DP had been welcomed with hostility at the Majengo market in Vihiga where he was heckled by people chanting NASA slogans.
