Majority leader Aden Duale has tabled a Bill in parliament that will help to curb the impersonation of individuals on social media.
Through the Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation, the members of parliament has proposed that anyone found with the offense of using someone else identity, creating an account on their behalf or impersonating anyone for their own gain will face a charge of either 3 million shillings fine or jail term for up to 3 years.

This bill comes after Members of Parliament complained that they were being harassed by malicious individuals who were demanding for money from them. The individuals have since been arrested and are awaiting prosecution.
Anybody who uses another persons name, image, business name or trademark will be held accountable for their action.
Different celebrities have complained of their accounts being hacked and going through cyber bullying.
