Ministry of Holiness and Repentance members led by Prophet David Owuor in Kaptabuk have had their homes set on fire by angry locals.

The village elders want the church members to vacate because they ‘do not associate with the community they don’t contribute to harambees, they hold crusades without informing village elders and their children don’t go to school because their parents spend most of the time in church without taking care of their families.’

Close to 15 homes have been razed down forcing families to flee for their lives. Bishop Zachary Kasipoi came to his church’s defence saying that his members had nothing to do with the death of an elder, whose death they allegedly foretold.

The elders have accused the members of acting ‘holier than thou and calling other churches satanic.’

West Pokot County Commissioner Apollo Okello, has asked the two groups to resolve issues amicably. He says they should act before the chaos affected the ongoing KCSE examinations.
