President Uhuru Kenyatta held a closed door meeting with the Ethics and anti corruption commission (EACC) at State House.
President Uhuru said that he was happy with the progress that the EACC in the fight against corruption and Asset recovery. He said that he fully supports the the process.
He also asked that the EACC works with the bodies mandated to fight corruption. The president said that the fight against corruption should not be a sorce of competition between government agencies.
He added that the war on graft would only be achieved through a multi agency partnership between the Directorate of criminal investigation, the office of the director of public prosecution alongside the EACC.
The EACC chairperson Eliud Wabukhala assured the president that so far they had saved the country Sh. 4.7 billion in corruption cases.
EACC have arrested several high profile people suspected to be involved in graft, the latest among this was former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero who was accused of mismanagement.
