President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked Nyeri town Mp, Ngunjiri Wambugu to withdraw a petition filed with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) seeking the removal from office of Chief Justice David Maraga.
The President was speaking at Sagana lodge where he was meeting with over 5,000 leaders from the Mt. Kenya region.
The head of state said he understood Ngunjiri’s pain but ‘we should concentrate on winning the October elections.’
”I understand your pain and action. But we have an election to win on October 17. That has to be our focus. Leave the court alone. All we want is for the will of the people to prevail,” Kenyatta said.

Mr Wambugu on Thursday filed the said petition eliciting mixed reactions from the people.
The Jubilee party has distanced itself from the legislator’s move but maintained that it is his constitutional right to do so.
