Police on Friday afternoon lobbed teargas to disperse refugees, including the disabled ones, who had camped outside the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) offices in Westlands.
According to reports, the refugees opted to camp outside the offices in a bid to get their monthly payments.
Speaking to Capital FM News, Jean Claude, a refugee from DRC Congo, and a person living with disability, noted that the agency has failed to address their grievances.
“They’re beating even the disabled. We have suffered enough already to go through this pain,” he lamented.
Claude, who uses a wheelchair, narrated how he witnesses police burning down his belongings , including his bedding, during the incident.
“Where will I sleep on?” the disturbed refugee wondered.

Another refugee, who is a mother of three, is reported to have fought off the security men as they tried to burn off her belongings.
“I have children. There’s no way I will watch as you burn down all what we have in this life,” she is reported to have yelled.
The refugee agency hasn’t yet released an official statement regarding the accusations being lounged against them.
The over tens of refugees will however remain in the cold for now since they were roughed up and chased from camping around the agency.
