The National Police Service is making plans to rehabilitate mentally ill, alcohol-addicted and physically challenged police officers.
Sources claim the move is aimed at implementing a report whose recommendations are not in the pubic domain.
Two years ago,the NPS formed a task-force that went visiting police stations all over the Country to look into the alarming increase murders and suicides among officers, a trend that has been on the rise.
Following the report which was presented to Inspector-General Joseph Boinnet in October last year, all heads in the Administration Police Service, the Kenya Police Service and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations right from the Sub-County levels have been asked to submit a list of all police officers falling under the three categories mentioned above in the story.
