Police manning the gates at the Kasarani Stadium where the match between Harambee stars and Waliyas of Ethiopia were forced to lob teargas after the crowd became rowdy as they tried to force their way in.
The waiver on gate charges saw thousand of football fans throng into the National stadium as the Kenyan team attempts to qualify for the Africa Cup off Nations in Cameroon in 2019.
As a measure to control the crowd police said that the gates to the stadium will be closed at 2 P.M . Fans who came after the stipulated time became rowdy attempting to bring down the gate. Fans were forced to run for their lives to avoid a possible stampede.

The sports PS Kaberia has stated that the stadium is currently full and those who were yet to arrive to watch it on TV.
