A matatu driver from Bomet County was subjected to assault and thievery after two policemen attacked him for refusing to part away with bribe.
The driver, Bernard Yegon, was attacked with a pistol and his teeth knocked out for allegedly being rude.
According to his narration in one of the dailies, the officers grabbed him and began to frisk him, but as he tried to resist they knocked him on the jaw with the pistol causing him to fall down.
Yegon narrates that the officers quickly grabbed KSh 40,000 from his pocket and disappeared.

The incident took place near Rorok Tea Factory at Konoin in Bomet on Sunday and his efforts to record a statement at Mogogosiek police station were not futile as the policemen were not helping him in any way.
He was forced to go back Bomet but was later referred to Konoin Police Station .
Bomet Matatu Owners Association chairman Jacob Kerich condemned the incident and called for the area Police Commandant to take action against the two officers or they will demonstrate.
