Administration Police Imposter Arrested Soliciting Bribes In Eldoret


A man has been arrested in Eldoret town for pretending to be an Administration Police office and has been extorting unsuspecting residents.

He was arrested as he tried to take bribes from boda boda riders while pretending to be on patrol, members of the public who discovered the man was an imposter were about to lynch him but he was rescued by police officers.

“Somebody informed our office that a police officer is being beaten up by motorbike operators along Mt. Kenya University streets, but after interrogation, they noticed he was not an officer. It is fortunate that he is still alive, they saved him from death,”Eldoret West OCPD Zachariah Bittok said

The police are currently interrogating the man who had the full uniform of an Administration police.  Police recovered hand cuffs and ammunition from the imposter.

Onlookers said that the man’s cover was blown by street children who alerted the members of the public that he was a con. Bittok said that angry  residents pounced on him but he was lucky that the police were within the area to rescue him.
